Sure, ETI may exist, but I don't think it has found us.

My view can be summed up like this: Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, but it's still absence of evidence.

I whole heartedly believe that there is life elsewhere. Given the shear vastness of the universe I think it would be incredibly egotistical to think otherwise. I just don't believe they've ever visited. So where's this kook's video?

If there is true evidence for aliens, then there are aliens.
If there are no aliens, then there is no true evidence for aliens.

Beyond that, we cannot make any inferences. Since "true evidence for aliens" is the sufficient clause, and there is no such evidence, we cannot discern whether or not the necessary clause (of there being aliens) is fulfilled.

Sure...if the definition of religion is "believing in something without having any evidence".

There is no winning because all of these arguments are very circular... One sides demands scientific evidence which simply cannot be provided in any irrefutable way, the other side (rightly) pushes the argument that a lack of scientific evidence does not mean that something is untrue. It really comes down to our own faith or lack thereof, the same can be said of religion, and other supernatural beliefs.

richard feynman's response on flying saucers.
Some years ago I had a conversation with a layman about flying saucers — because I am scientific I know all about flying saucers! I said "I don't think there are flying saucers'. So my antagonist said, "Is it impossible that there are flying saucers? Can you prove that it's impossible?" "No", I said, "I can't prove it's impossible. It's just very unlikely". At that he said, "You are very unscientific. If you can't prove it impossible then how can you say that it's unlikely?" But that is the way that is scientific. It is scientific only to say what is more likely and what less likely, and not to be proving all the time the possible and impossible. To define what I mean, I might have said to him, "Listen, I mean that from my knowledge of the world that I see around me, I think that it is much more likely that the reports of flying saucers are the results of the known irrational characteristics of terrestrial intelligence than of the unknown rational efforts of extra-terrestrial intelligence." It is just more likely. That is all.

You haven't been rationally arguing from the beginning.

The link in your sig is entertainment, nothing more. It's as factually argued and solidly founded as the Weekly World News was; i.e. much of it can probably be easily DISproven with minimal research, not a single one of the "scientists" and "experts" continually cited in all sorts of articles have any kind of credentials or references, and when actual papers ARE cited, they do anything BUT support the inferred "theory".

It does make for a few minutes of fun reading, though.

And calling Tiresias "ignorant" for summing that up, but having the Mysterious Universe site in your sig qualifies as "irony".

It was a religious argument back when he brought up Richard Dawkins.

Dawkins is not the Antichrist, he is a scientist. Last section of Chapter 2 of The God Hypothesis is Little green men.

So no, not really.

I'm not saying he is, but he barely speaks about anything other than religion, and the recommended read was "The God Delusion". It is foolish to argue that this was not the point at which religion entered this particular discussion.

That's sounds like a generalization, but that doesn't mean it is not true. Can it be verified?

Let us see.

Here is a list of books by evolutionary biologist and popular science writer Richard Dawkins.

The Selfish Gene (not about religion)
The Extended Phenotype (not about religion)
The Blind Watchmaker (not about religion)
River out of Eden (not about religion)
Climbing Mount Improbable (in part about religion)
Unweaving the Rainbow (not about religion)
A Devil's Chaplain (one chapter on religion)
The Ancestor's Tale (not about religion)
The God Delusion (about religion)

Oh well, I guess it was just a stupid generalization.

Looks like somebody didn't take proper precautions when choosing a house.

That looks like a student's After Effects project. There's nothing organic about it at all. A one year animation student could do better than this.

YouTube - NEW! Leaked Video of Denver Alien in Window 06.01.08, no jok

Shame on CNN for taking this bait.

Claims to be the real one. But who knows…

The guy from the PARANORMAL society laughed the original video of as a fake saying "it sucks". So it's a pretty fair call that even the UFO kooks themselves don't want anything to do with it.

Yea, I remember that part. I'd like to see the portion of the video where the alien is running around in the house (as shown in the re-enactment).

Why the hell is the real footage not out yet?

Because, as the UFO nut that had seen it said "it sucks". I bet you eleventy billion dollars that the "reenactments" are better than the originals.
