One of my favourties of the vinyl I own:

The inner sleeves also have some really good artwork, not sure if these are the same as on the CD, but couldn't find any pics online.

I can't find quality scans on the web, and my scanner isn't big enough to take on a whole album cover, but Sonic Youth's SYR series of albums had these really great looking line patterns on the front, if you look at them too long, they almost seem to move.

As a bonus, the vinyl for most of these albums is translucent, sometimes clear, sometimes with a nice tint.

You can see poor representations of the series at amazon

Here's the best scan I can find, but it's the CD cover, kind of beat up, and inferior to the album IMO.

Well since we're just putting up the covers of our fave bands that aren't even good

Sadly I can't find Hangnail's Transparent Album cover

But the best cover ever is Squad Five O's Bombs Over Broadway... after 911 they had to sell it with a picture of the band above the cover in the case because otherwise people would get mad. It had two stealth bombers with the WTC in the BG... again I make the point it was put out a while before 911. The song it'self actually is more about the eventual fall of the american capitalist empire.

I don't know that this is such a great cover. It's just such a great album that I have to associate the cover with greatness.

Apparently some of you are dumber than I thought. Its not the music on the album but the COVER on its own. I don't care much for Blink but that was a good cover on their CD.
Pictures of Tupac... never going to qualify as imaginative or revolutionary artwork.

Love him or not, this cover is extremely memorable and puts across his entire persona - his entire career! - perfectly.

Another pitch-perfect album cover that carries the album's idea

Several decades of Prestige, Verve, and other jazz recordings disagree emphatically.

Also, one of my favorite album covers, though the music is completely lame:
