Does anyone have a good recommendation for a sleeve or a case for a ipod 60gig photo. I want to make sure it fits and the width difference between the regular ipod and the 60 worries me a bit. Thanks in advance.

I haven't looked in a while, does iSkin make a 60gb model? www.iskin.com are my personal favorite cases, except for the fact that you can't use them with a dock and they're a pain to get on and off.

I use the Incase neoprene sleeve on my 40 GB Photo. It's a nice, snug fit. It does a good job of protecting my iPod and the belt clip is solid. I highly recommend it.

I had an iSkin for the first 6 months of my iPod. Found that I didn't like the extra bulk that it added. I've since replaced it with a trimmed PDA screen protector over the display and a full length one on the back. After four months this way I haven't noticed a significant increase of scratches, even with sticking the iPod into pockets.
I'm now starting to think that iPod cases and sleeves are among the most clever of scams. What's the point of protecting the surface of your iPod if doing so prevents you from enjoying that same surface?

I don't agree that the cases are a scam. I carried around my Tungsten T for 18 months or so in a hard case in my bag and the case looked seriously stressed with genuine dents and some severe wear and tear. And I'm relatively careful with my equipment (tho not anal). I clean out my bag every day and don't have keys or anything rattling around at the bottom but stuff happens when you're carrying something around all the time. It's not just a matter of patina.
I'm not exactly going to be carrying around a 60GB ipod photo in my jeans pocket. Tad big there. As summer approaches and the overall number of pockets reduces greatly I'm wondering what I'm going to do with this thing. I was thinking the arm band but also am concerned that carrying an ipod on your arm in the NYC subway might increase your "target" quotient. I think I prefer to have the thing in the bag I'm carrying. But with the ipod usability (access to controls) adds another element of complication. I don't want to have to OPEN a case to use the controls.
anyway....wasted two hours on this quest. Must get back to learning something useful.
Anyone with definitve info on cases that fit the 60GB please offer it up. Thanks.

If you're looking for carrying cases, I think you can expand your search from cases designed specifically for the iPod to those designed for mp3 players in general. Almost any iPod specific case is going to scream iPod (speaking of which, are you still using the white headphones?). When I go cycling I have a Body Glove mp3 player hip pouch that fits my iPod like, well, a glove (though it will only work with right-angle headphone connectors and not the straight connector ones that come with the iPod). I use the remote for controling the ipod when it's in this case.

I changed head phones from the start.
I never would have thought of other mp3 carriers but that's a good idea.
here's some responses to emails I sent:
----------------
re incase leather sleeve: At this time, only the Leather Sleeve in White fits the 60BG iPod Photo. We
are working to reissue our current lineup of sleeves to fit the 60GB. These
revamped sleeves should be available within the next month.
----------------
from Small Dog Electronics: At this time, we do not have any cases that are specifically for the 60 GB iPod. It is a little thicker that the standard iPod. We do have a couple of cases
The DLO Action jacket neoprene case will accommodate the 60 GB iPod. See an example here:

While I see your point keep one thing in mind that the case is there to protect it from getting scratched and (depending on the case) dented. I can forsee typical useage would start marking up the surfice. Throw it in your pocket and the keys/coins will scratch it. Backpack who knows what dents/scratches will occur.
Of course there's quite a cottage industry that has sprung up on this but I suppose thats capitalism.
