a friend of mine got a new 30gb ipod video for christmas, and since he's a little computer-retarded i helped him get it set up on his toshiba laptop running xp. i taught him how to convert videos using itunes, from mpg to ipod format. the problem is that once converted, the videos have no sound when played on the ipod, but the sound works fine when i play them in itunes.

im sure it's probably somehting simple im just overlooking, but can anyone help me out here?

i have no idea what that means. maybe a better question would be: can somebody give me the basic steps (i can probably figure the rest out) to convert videos for ipod on win xp? do i need another program in addition to itunes in order to do this? and are there free alternatives i can use?

Same. G5 Mac trying to convert using iTunes. However, it happens with every file I try to convert, even when they aren't identified as muted.
