Toshiba was all set to release this product, and I really would like to get my hands on one.
But I can't find anything about this online.
here
Anybody know what happened to this thing?

Bluetooth for mass storage just isn't practical. With an average transfer speed of 750kbits/sec, it would take more than 15 and a half hours to fill a 5 gig drive. granted, you wouldn't transfer all 5 gigs at a time, but even a 4mb mp3 would take around 45 seconds to transfer

Does that mean they cancelled the program? I need a storage solution for a cell phone such as the T68i and an ewear.

what would you possibly need to store 5 gigs of on a cell phone? And the e-wear (according to Panasonic's site) doesn't have bluetooth. My suggestion is get a 512mb SD card for the e-wear and delete a few addresses off the T68i so they fit in the internal memory.

Even if some company made a bluetooth HD, it wouldn't work with a cell phone. Why would you need/want 5gb on a cell phone?

What kind of horrible idea is this thing!?

Yes, I do. I am going to get an ewear, and I am going to be far, far away from a computer for a long, long time. I am trying to find a way to repeatedly upload the video from my ewear to a hard drive so I can delete the SD-card and start over.
My first solution was to do this
ewear/sdcard -> sdcard/USB connector -> USB/T68i USB converter -> T68i bluetooth -> bluetooth hard drive.
Or something.
Now see? What would your solution be?
I'd just like to say that panasonic really pisses me off by making the ewear take a crappy card instead of having an iPod hard drive in it...

Frankly that sounds like a bad idea, even if it would work. Why is it that you have to use the ewear? Aren't there any other products that would fit your needs?

Dude just go get yourself a imagetank or something similar. Check the xdrives out too @ http://www.powerinnumbers.com.au Empty your SD card in seconds with one of these but with some you can't upload back to your SD card.
And your first solution won't work. This is not apple where talking about. There's almost no compatibility between a phone and something like a bluetooth HDD.
