Can anyone recommend good software (preferably free) to help my transfer my vinyl collection to mp3? I've heard Peak LE is good, but it won't encode to mp3 format...

thanks,

I believe that Toast Titanium 5 will do it, but it's not free.

There's also something called felt tip sound studio - do a web search and you should be able to track it down.

Then upload your MP3 onto http://www.live365.com for all to listen to (if it's deepfunkyhouse music that is....)

Or you can stream your MP3 directly from your Mac it you've got a b/band connection.

My personal favorite (and it's free) is SoundApp:
http://www.spies.com/~franke/SoundApp/

but you can also do this with Ultra Recorder, via versiontracker.
I've had great luck with both transferring old 78s and such...
