Now that both MBP 17" and MB have the "Two Fingers Trackpad Right-Click" (equivalent of Ctrl + Click or Right Mouse Click), when will we MBP 15" owner get this functionality?

Don't fret, you've managed without it all the while you have had your MBP, and I hear the speed bumped 15" MBPs have it, so it will be along in due course...
iMac Core Duo 1.83 Ghz | 1.25GB RAM | 160HD, MacBook Core Duo 1.83 Ghz | 13.3" | 60HD | 1.0GB RAM

Here's a temp hack for those of us with 15" MBP.

http://digg.com/apple/15_MacBook_Pro...Trackpad_Click

This will allow you to tap the trackpad with two fingers for a right click. The install is very simple.

What is the first 5 digits of your serial number?

Why don't you tell me what to look for in my serial number?

Sorry, just being paranoid.

Digit 4 and 5 tells you which week it was produced. A friend of mine bought a MBP 2.16 last Tuesday (week 20), the day of the speed bumps, and his sn start with W8617, meaning it was produced in week 17. This means that it is not one of the speed bumped machines.

So, even though you ordered your machine after the speed bumps, it still can be produced before week 20 (which was the week of the speed bumps).

Gotcha.

Mine is week 17 as well. But it's a 2.0GHz $1999 machine. Is that not the speed bump? Used to be the $1999 one was 1.83GHz.

Apple probably had several 2.0Ghz versions in stock, which they just dropped the price on. They same for the 2.16 versions I guess. And at the same time they stopped producing the 1.83 versions.

It would be interesting if anyone could confirm if the newest 15" MBP's (from week 20) has the right-click function.

But the specs on my 2.0 aren't the same as the old 2.0.

Before the speed bump the 2.0GHz MBP came with a 100GB hard drive and 256 RAM on the video card.

My 2.0 has an 80GB hard drive and 128 RAM on the video card, it's exactly like the 1.83 model except for the processor.

So the machine I've got isn't a $2499 2.0GHz model marked down, it's a totally new configuration from the old line.
