Hi there,

My Pismo CD/DVD opens when I restart or clean boot. It's a major pain in the arse.

At: http://www.macfixit.com/reports/firmware.shtml

It said:

"CD/DVD Tray Eject
Several readers have now confirmed the related glitch (first noted in yesterday's report) where the CD/DVD tray opens on every restart after installing the update. This can happen even if you do not also get the memory problem. We have no solution for this as yet."

Is this an ongoing problem Apple are ignoring? Or is there a fix?

Plus....when I do a Apple Software Update the options given to me are:

Apple DVD Player 2.7
Apple DVD Player Z-2.7

Do I need either of these (which one?) and will they help fix this problem, or create a new one? Does Z mean the "I'm not in the USA" option or ?

Further, I have recently installed a new USB mouse, but experience the problem when it is connected or not, so potentially a USB xtn conflict to resolve, unsure - yet..... groan.

Many thanks, John.
