Amazon just rolled out their music service for Prime members. It requires Flash to be enabled. Just new online, and so antiquated. If mighty Amazon can't get with it and embrace HTMLH 5, WTF?

Probably a lot of it has to do with not wanting to expose URLs that would make it easy to download the media. Spotify's web app requires Flash too.
Not much Amazon can do until the encrypted media extensions ( https://dvcs.w3.org/hg/html-media/ra...ted-media.html) are supported in all browsers.

What do the mobile apps use? I ditched Pandora for Amazon Prime Music when Pandora hiked their rates, but I'm super unimpressed with Amazon's mobile apps. They take forever to connect and have a lot of issues auto-starting. Pandora was great for that.

The mobile apps use HTML5 or some native solution, but there is no way to use an equivalent to the Webkit Inspector, Firebug, or the like to trace what (unencrypted) URL is being used to serve media in a native app. You won't find Mobile Safari/Chrome support for these web apps, they'll just make you download the native app, AFAIK.
