I have until the end of the month to finish House of Cards before my Netflix runs out. Anyone else speed watching?
I'm only up to episode 3 so far. Not quite as gripping as Season 1, perhaps because you already know that any character with the moral high ground is doomed... but still interesting. I was a little disenheartened at the end of Season 1, and wasn't sure I'd watch again... but kevin spacey is just... so. good.
These comments are for eps 1 &2 or so:
Zoe:
I knew she was doomed. Doomed doomed doomed. As is her reporter boyfriend, sir stupid thinks he can hack after 5 minutes. I may be surprised there... ? Nah. Doomed.
Claire:
So scumbag general date raped her in college... was there also the clue that she got pregnant, but got rid of it? This why they don't have children, and why she acts strangely around her pregnant ex-employee? Strange change of heart to go from yanking health insurance and making threats to handing over the company. I suspect that the clean water company is going to have a scandal and she needed a fallguy. Although it's possible now that she's first veep she doesn't need or care about water. I look forward to that general having an accident with a tank.
Jackie:
Not as compelling a character or storyline as last season's easily manipulated senator... but I bet the only reason she was steered toward the WHIP position was to oust her father-figure role model.
Politics. brrrr.

I think I started Season 1 in December and after the first episode I was all in. Second season hasn't disappointed so far.

It makes twice as little sense that she would sabotage Frank for the benefit of that very same company when she immediately resigned upon his success. You may be onto something, because otherwise its a big gaping WTF (As it is, her sabotage supposedly moved up his timetable for baldy's self-destruction, yet after it occurs they make it seems like the Veep barely has enough time to get onto the campaign trail. Contradictory).

We'll see. I'm up to episode 8, and no mention of this plotline.
My goal of finishing in a week isn't going to happen, I thought 2 eps a night or so would be fine, but a) I keep falling asleep on it, and b) took a break to watch Justified, because Timothy Olyphant. I hope there are some redeemable characters that emerge to root for this season, but so far it's pretty bleak.
Eps 3&4:
The quorum stuff was surprisingly interesting.
Disappointed in Russo's aide now being a presidential aide and not giving a damn about him.
Also disappointed in the zoe plotline. Seriously, Zoe didn't save her contacts or texts on her desktop machine, or the cloud, or dropbox? There's no clues for her boyfriend Lucas to follow? Come on. And, I still can't believe he's so gullible with the "hacker." New journalism, no street smarts.
Rachel: pretty sure she's gonna end up in a dumpster at some point. Not sure I care about her redemption path.
Claire's press secretary: yawn.
Claires interview: wow. Take that General.
Eps 5&6:
Confession, I found the Tusk/China plotline kind of boring.
Thought the hacker was being coerced, being a CI is not as fun as White Collar makes it look. Feel sorry for the guy, and his pet Cashew. Lucas, just... I give up on you dude.
Distrusted the new PR rep, it's not nice to lie to sweet old ladies. At least Connor will get a cushy job...

So between Doug and Meecham, I feel like one of them is getting set-up to take a fall.[/quote]
Ep 11
{spoiler]Also-raped girl was so jacked up and excited after the interview between the medication and her behavior, I think she lied about being raped by the general and is very likely getting off on the media attention (She begged for as many interviews as possible after finally giving in. Does not bode well for Claire.
