I guys. I hope this is in the correct forum.

I want to be able to grab pictures( ie still photos) from DVD's if possible. Is there a program able to do this. I have a couple of DVD's which features houses I wish to show an architect rather than having him sit through portions of each dvd.

1) Is there such a program (prefer free wear)?
2) Is it legal to be able to do this?

Thanks for your input

Snapz Pro from Ambrosia Software does. It is not freeware. But I think the Demo is uncrippled for a short time.

Snapz Pro only worked on DVD's if you have an NVidia graphics card, last I checked. but you can just take a normal screenshot from VLC, which is free. Also there are several utilities on versiontracker just for dvd screenshots, but I've never tried them

You could also use VLC to watch your DVD's , then pause your dvd at the pic you want and on your keyboard press command-shift 4 then push the space bar and you'll get a camera that can take a pict of whatever you like.

Oh yeah as you move the camera around the screen the area thats slightly shaded will be the pict taken.

By the way VLC is freeware, and the pict thing is built into the OS.

Hope that helps.
