Looking at the XBench website, I noticed 2 kinds of single 1.8s, one is the 970 and the other has no "name".
Can someone help me out here?

one was a Rev A and they had a Rev B model from the speed bump at WWDC 2004 and then later offered the SP 1.8 with only 4 ram slots

The Rev A has a 900 MHz bus and room for 8 gigs of RAM. The Rev B is the G5 iMac in a different case: 600 MHz bus and room for 4 gigs of RAM.
The era of anthropomorphizing hardware is over.

The rev A's are better in that they give you double the RAM capacity, and they should be a bit faster too. Get a Rev A if you can

The same advice goes for the duals. The Rev A. models are better that goes for dual 1.8 and dual 2.0 power macs.
