Please excuse me if this has been discussed before.

I have the opportunity to buy a 604e daughter card pulled from an PM 8600. Will it work in my PM 7500? TIA --Glen

The 8600 card should physically fit into your 7500, but due to possible electrical differences and/or pin-outs in the card's connectors, it may not actually work.

Theoretically, it should work. These machines all use the same G3 upgrade cards, so pin outs and electrical requirements should be the same. I haven't actually tried this, however.

Apparently the card will not work. According to a response from comp.sys.mac.hardware.misc

"No, it won't work. The 8600 and 9600's with the 250 -> 350 MHz daughtercards have Kansas motherboards, which are different than the
Tsunami/TNT motherboards in the 7500/8500/9500". --Mark Heiple

Thought I share this new info with the forum. Thanks Mark and thanks to those who responded --Glen
