Just like it says, place yer bets for Mac World San Francisco. This one looks to be a doozy.

Keep 'em short, keep 'em simple, list 'em in descending order of probability, and keep 'em realistic: first one to say "Apple Branded Palm" or "Dual Processor PowerBook" gets hit with the Stupid Stick.

I say:
  • PowerBook G4s
     Faster G4 Desktops
     CD-RWs
     Lower priced Cubes
     750 MHz G3s alongside G4s
     Cool new software

Yet another OS X demo and maybe a release date.

500 MHz G4s

Unhappy Mac fans.

Apple's in my dog house right now. I see nothing good in the horizon for them.

I'm hoping on UMA-2 with every fiber of my body! SOME CPU upgrade would be nice, too, even 550 MHz!

there's gonna be something HUGE, i can just feel it... like the time when the iMac landed and shocked everyone. Like a 750MHz chip from IBM. Or the thing that Steve has been saying they haven't been pursuing at all, you know, the thing. You can't deny something that fervently and not have it be true. There's gonna be something HUGE. I can just feel it.

I just know that we're all gonna be upset...
Apple has to come up wih Ghz on all desktop models, but we'll only get a 100 to 200 Mhz upgrade.

Shamefull.

I just had a vision!!. (not a steve vision)

ok ready? ........... Black is back!!!! 2001, 2002 is taking us back there.

A new iMac in black!!! some sort of pro edition iMac with a G4.

But not just any black, it's like a black mirror finish and awesome new design. Sleek, powerful, stylish, and all that.

But not just Apple, other things are going to start coming back in black, cars, cloths, just about everything...back to black.

(This is not a prediction for MWSF so I claim immunity from the stupid stick)

Ok, this isn't quite the Apple-branded Palm, but it's along the same lines. I just don't want to get whacked with Don's stupid stick.

What about the possibility of a portable MP3 player, released alongside the iMusic software and burners? I read yesterday that Intel is getting into the portable MP3 player market, and I thought to myself, "Self, that sounds like something Jobs would think was pretty cool." Can't you see him on stage, holding this funky little plastic thing in his hand, hooking it up to one of the new black G4 iMacs (I like disectamac's vision), and using the new iMusic software to compile a playlist of MP3's and uploading them to the player via USB (or firewire would be cool).I'm not trying to start any nasty rumors. It was just a thought that popped into my head (which is now ducking to avoid the stupid stick).

In my defense, a portable MP3 player is probably just as likely as Apple releasing a 750 MHz processor.

CBS Market Watch thinks they have the scoop. hmmmm not a great reputation there, but I hope they got it right. Lotsa cool new stuff. Even mention the possibility of a 733 MHz model (to ship in 6 months )

BTW thanks, Burger, for the laffs. First time I laughed at an Apple Doom line like your getaway.

OS 9.1
OS X date fixed
G3 Cube (afordable?)
G4 PowerBooks @ 500 & 550 Mhz
G4 Tower @ 550 Mhz
G4 Tower with 2 x 550Mhz
G4 Tower with 4 x 550Mhz
Awsom new colors, maybe even beige.
And total dissapoinment, until I realise how cheap I can pickup an old G4 Tower with 2 x 500Mhz.

ATTENTION: THERE WILL NEVER BE A G3 CUBE!

The whole ad campaign would be ruined. The idea of fitting a supercomputer into an 8 inch cube would be ruined. Besides, a 500 MHz G3 and a 500 MHz G4 have a price difference of about $40.

A G3 wouldn't lower the price.

You take a $799 iMac, throw away the crappy screen, change the proc to a G4, put it in a smaller box, and charge $1799??? Na! And they wonder why it didn't sell? I'd love a cube, so I'm hoping for a much cheaper and improved Rev.B model.

OSX Delivery date announced with lots of tests of speed
G4 Cube will get faster with same or lower price
PowerBook G4 New enclouser, maybe with 3 different sized

iMacs and iBooks may get a mention

and the one more thing...would be an Apple wireless phone/PDA.
Maybe it will run a version of OSX for WAP.

Along with iMusic

Here is a link to my drawings of what I might design for Apple of I did...and I DON'T.

powerbook powerbook, but forget this g4 junk (heheh).
new models are 600 and 700mhz G3, only slightly different plastics. all units come with cdrw/dvd drives that can play mp3s via hardware decoding (burn a cd with mp3s and the computer plays it as an audio cd).

while we're at it, the duo is revived as the cubebook and comes standard with wireless technology.. let's say...via built-in cell phone

IF <----big if , Steve Introduces updated PowerMac G4 Towers with V'Ger chips running at 733Mhz as some news sites have reported to be possible.

If this happens to be true on Tuesday then wouldn't Mercury be up to 733Mhz G4? hmmmmmm............

If Apple can pull something like this off come Tuesday I'd be impressed.

Since no one is willing to be even a little bit daring...

OSX will be a simultaneous launch in June; Mac, DEC Alpha and Intel hardware. Two thirds of the functionality was not released in the public beta and Apple is only going to ask $475 US.

New iBurn software will be offered with an add-on hardware player with a USB load/unload port but the cassette-size player will also include a 640x480 still camera, desktop mountable for 10fps video conferencing. $355US with 8MB memory stick.

17" LCD monitor, single cable, digital interface with built-in microphone. $999US

Really sexy 750Mhz dual processor desktops will be demonstrated, they will be of the new board design, but they won't be available until August.

Gorgeous, slim, G4 Powerbooks avalable in 400

They do that and it won't sell a copy. It can't be priced over around $130, just based on what desktop operating systems sell for these days.

There's no chance they'll bother with the other architectures. June is MUCH too late. The rumored date of February is kinda late, even.

I have a Dual processor mac... i want OSX!!! I want to push this machine to its limits!!

but thats not going to happen i think steve will release faster g4' update the powerbook and release 9.1 maybe a new iTool and some software.

I would love to hear steve say " so we introduced faster macs, updated the powerbook and released new software...but there is one more thing..."(a big blue X appears on the screen) and then steve would say " guess what.?...it's done.."

*sigh* Wishful thinking i guess....

Only 12 hours left...
Where are all the BIG rumors? There's nothing that's making me go crasy...
I hope we get a lot more than predicted tomorrow.

G4's needs to be over 700 Mhz and DUAL (I'm looking for around 800).
The Cube has to be in those speed ranges with a nice price tag.
The PowerBooks have to be REALLY cool looking (something along the new pro mouse: Clear shell with black interior).

And yes, Steve has to say : "One last thing, here it is... Mac OS X!"
