I don't know if this is any big news or not, but I just got notification from Apple that my iLife 04 has shipped. I didn't think it was suppose to ship until Jan.16.

Apple sales rep told me it would ship tuesday or Wends...so not a shock really.
Mine still says "EST SHIP 1/15/04"...understandable since i ordered through Education Store.

Mine's still on 'open' for the 15th. When I ordered on the 6th it listed the item as iLife'04-USA and it has since been cancelled and replaced with iLife'04-INT. I didn't do that. Must be an internal inventory switch thing.
I'm in Canada and ordered from the Canadian Apple Store.

Yeah, that 15th estimate is relative to PST. I'm in the EST time zone so it doesn't have to technically change to say a new shipping date until their office hours days ends. I'm guessing that means 8:00pm EST. Unless they'll work overtime.
If I knew someone who worked there who was, I'd send them a big thank you.

When I ordered, I said to ship it all as one package, instead of three. I assumed the keyboard would be ready BEFORE iLife and Jam Pack. I guess this is why my whole shipment is held up until the 21st.
Dammit I wish I had set it to ship seperately.... now I have to wait for all of it.

Ordered the educational version and it shipped yesterday with 2-day, even though I chose the $4.00 ground shipping. Will be here tomorrow by 4:30 PM so says FedEx. (When Panther shipped they said by 3:30 PM and it came at 3:29).

Now that I've subscribed for email posting of this thread, I have to run and check if the email is from this thread or from the apple store every time mail bings.
I think I'll just go to bed.
Also I just noticed I am the oldest registered member in this posting. cool.

%100 sure... I always did. The CompUSA is so close and they have to compete with the Apple Store, they even give educational pricing...
but I always go to the Apple Store

Does it say anything about the retail stores though?

Apple Retail Stores DO NOT offer student discounts on software in store...you will need to order online to get this discount. This was the case with Panther also. The in-store student discount only applies to Apple Branded hardware (CPU's, Displays, Airport, iPods, iSight, etc).
Hope this saves you some aggravation tomorrow morning.

That happened to me too (Toronto, not Sudberia ), but mine has been "released for delivery". Too bad that was at 11:30 pm. Hopefully I'll get it tomorrow.

Yeah, I'm thinking they add a week to the time by default, even if you were the last box sitting around the evening before that would be processed first thing in the morning.

Oy that better be wrong. I only ordered it from the apple store since it said delivery by today the 16th.

Hmmm... Still "released for delivery", but it says estimated date of delivery is the 19th. I sure hope not, because I wanted to use iMovie/iDVD this weekend, and Apple had said the delivery date was supposed to be the 16th.

Mine is somewhere in my office building. I am now at the mercy of the efficiency of the corporate mailroom.
On a sidenote, my jampack was supposed to ship as well, but got delayed until the 21st.

So it turns out that my order has shipped. Fedex hasn't updated its status page on it since 11:45pm last night so I guess it's still in Toronto but who knows, could be sitting at the Sudbury depot. Hooray!

i got an email from apple saying that it will not be shipped until the 21st. then i get another one saying it has been shipped.
i got the up-to-date thing for $20, and went for the cheapest shipping, can not remember if it was free or not.
i went to the order page to see if the thing did actually ship or not, since i got two emails. it says it has been shipped, but the tracking number does not find anything on fedex. the apple page says that the thing has been shipped with priority overnight saturday delivery.
so we will see if it arrives tomorrow. would be cool.

I got mine today. Apple shipped it on the 14th.
It took about 10 minutes or so to install on my PB. Have played with it just a little so far. Here's my first impressions:
Garage band is a little slow on my 12" PB. There are noticable pauses when doing things. I'm sure it will be much better on faster Macs. It is fun to play with though and I plan on plugging my guitar in tonight.
iPhoto seems to be a lot better. It's quicker (once it has updated your library) to scroll through pictures and has some nice new editing tools.
The install takes up a lot of space. It used about 3+GB if you install the Garage Band samples. I had 19+GB before and 15.9 after.
I'll play with it a little more and post later.
