Is it possible to capture animated GIFs from a website? If so, how can I do it?
Thanks in advance.

Simply control-click the image and save it.

Thanks. I would like to use the animated GIFs in a PowerPoint or Keynote presentation. Is there anything 'special' I need to do to make the animation work?

just paste it onto your Keynote slide. Then select the figure, open Inspector, go to Media tab (one with Quicktime icon), and enable looping.
animated gifs are fun.

Thanks, I pasted in the animated gif into me presentation and the effects are sweeet.
However, I came across an animated background/ wallpaper on a particular webpage but I can't seem to save the animated wallpaper for my presentation using the control-click method.
Does this mean that it can not be done?

For that you may have to look into the source of the page and load it directly.

It might be flash. If not, just view the webpage in source mode and figure out what file it is, then just nab that.

Did you ask permission from the actual owners of the image(s)?

Yes, I have emailed the person for permission. If they do not agree, I will not used the GIFs in my presentation.

Please can you expand on your question. I could direct you to the web site but I'm not going to post the GIF directly as they technically are not mine.
