Dualla shocked me. I thought she was going to do something odd while babysitting (kidnap, etc) but then she seemed happy. I think this is a lesson from the Joss Whedon school of storytelling. Kill em all off.
Tyrol looks relieved to hand his son over. A) ok, his life is complex right now and the kid might need a spare dad, but b) cold, man, cold. Kid doesn't know other guy from Adam.
Tigh and Six is kind of creepy.

I want to see more about Baltar and Six. You know, the plot they've been building for four seasons now? Have they decided Baltar will just be some religious nut and that's all the character development he needs?

He only got that character development last season -- incidentally when the series *really* went downhill.

I could take Sean Connery in a fight... I could definitely take him.

Makes perfect sense when you look at his character: he's always been a megalomaniac. The religious thing is just the latest manifestation of it.
And I thought last season was a lot better than the third, when I almost gave up.

The third season started out well, but it got bogged down later on. IIRC, according to Ron Moore, he had to kind of derail the storytelling at Sci-Fi Channel's request (and then it turned our people thought that sucked, so Sci-Fi let him do what he wants again).

I kept watching because I hoped to get a glimpse of Dean Stockwell's character - it was wonderful how he completely mocks the pretentiousness of everyone else.
He breaks up the bullcrap - which must have slipped by Moore to begin with. Although I'm a big fan of Edward James Olmos, and him being the main reason I gave the series a chance to begin with, he can't hold the series alone.
Those two are the only real actors on the series - the others.. well you may like them, but stars they are not.

This was a really good episode. I enjoyed it a lot. Good drama, plot and characterization. And it was cool to see these war heroes actually act like the badasses they're supposed to be instead of pouty little teenagers. That scene where Gaeta's guys come to arrest Adama and he warns them all about the reckoning? And guerilla Starbuck? That was fun and awesome and felt right.
But I still wish they'd resume the plot points they've been developing throughout the series.

Yeah, but they always do stuff like that. It wouldn't be unreasonable for the firing squad not to go through with it, or they get captured by Starbuck and Lee, and somehow Zarack thinks the execution happened. Tigh is possibly forfeit, but he's a Cylon anyway so I'm sure they'd send him to wherever Ellen is and he'd come back.
Of course they could at this point in the series kill Adama, I'm not saying they wouldn't, but there are ways around. I think Zarack and Gaeta are definitely done. I wouldn't be surprised to see Gaeta's boyfriend pull the trigger on Gaeta.

It's amazing that Adama had such weak command. His decision to team up with the Cylons must have been wildly unpopular. I mean wildly.

Yes, I'm surprised we didn't see more of that. It seemed very sudden and received docilely.
I think Tye threw himself on the grenade to save Adama. That might be an act that redeems the Cylons to some crew members. I also hope Gaeta and Zerek get snuffed.

AWESOME episode. I totally hope they get the "good guys" off Galactica, then nuke it from the Base Star.

I guess last week's ep was to set the stage for the uprising, but they never showed any Galactica crew supporting it, other than the gimp Gaeta. That is a bad setup.
I believe Tigh threw himself on the gernade, no doubt. I think Adama will personally kill half the crew when/if he gets command back.

Well, that's not exactly true. We saw the quorum was completely against it. Also, we saw Gaeta begin to drum up support after his argument with Starbuck.

Really they should back the fleet up to Earth, ditch the whole lot of them on the surface, and leave them for the Cylons.

I guess you're right. But it's nuts that Adama doesn't have a better pulse on things. He knew when Tigh and Starbuck were drumming up insurrection after the Battle of New Caprica.

I think Adama was off his game with the promise of Earth destroyed and the President having abandoned everyone. Everybody is in a poor state, which is how Zarek and Gaeta managed to get their rebellion going. This episode was sort of "How Adama Got His Groove Back."

Awesome episode. It was pretty jam-packed. Zarek's downfall was that the person he chose to orchestrate a coup with ultimately didn't have the heart to go through with it. And executing the quorum, that was cold.
It was really cool to finally see an FTL drive (sort of) functioning. Also, I'm assuming the stress marks that Tyrol saw at the end are alluding to the fact that Galactica's nearing the end of its serviceable life.

For all the great moments in this episode, I think it says a lot that I was most excited about seeing the end of the quorum. That one act probably strengthened the fleet more than anything else Zarek and Gaeta did.
Great job by Roslyn this ep! Loved her reaction to Zarek when she thought Adama was dead.

Just watched the two rebellion episodes: good, nail biting stuff. Not one of the high concept stories, but fun nonetheless. Several things strike me:
1) We don't know what happened to Anders;
2) The massive crack in the Galactica puts Tyrol's loyalties to the test. Don't know if that's the kind of info they want the skinjobs to have;
3) I agree this was the Adama/Roslyn get their groove back episode.

I think likely Tyrol unintentionally screwed with the FTL field enough to start to warp the ship.
Damn shame. I was hoping the final scene in the series would be Galactica as a museum orbiting their new homeworld.

Spoiler.
Next week trailer showed Ellen waking up in a resurrection tank. Looked a bit different though, like it was hanging at the top of the Cylon's CIC where those water strings are.
Also shows anders saying he remembers EVERYTHING and is going to share it with starbuck.

You're right. However,
seeing Ellen resurrected doesn't exactly make me fear for Sam's life like I did before I saw that.
Loved the scene where what's-his-face couldn't shoot Tyrol. Yet another person who realizes the "skin jobs" are human in every way that really matters. I can't wait to find out what the true relationship between humans and cylons is!

I think that was Capt Kelly. He is the LSO and tried to kill the lawyer for Baltar. We see him every now in then. Interesting, he is third in the chain of command, under Tight.

Given the title of the thread, the spoiler tag is optional. Not using it makes it easy to discuss what has already been viewed, which is what I think most members come here to do.

Don't know if I'd go that far, but it does show that once you've loved someone, you can't just get rid of thise feelings because you find out something about them. Also realized that Starbuck hasn't told anyone she's, like, dead.
And, analogue, not using the spoiler tags is a dick move.
