Hello,

At first I thought same item appearing to never get fixed was related only to my "new" Pismo that I bought in May. the following item always apears when I repair permissions:

++++++
Repairing permissions for MacintoshHD
Determining correct file permissions.
We are using special permissions for the file or directory ./System/Library/Filesystems/cd9660.fs/cd9660.util. New permissions are 33261
The privileges have been verified or repaired on the selected volume

Permissions repair complete
++++++

I'd done a format/install of 10.3 to get rid of another odd permission repair issue and slow CD player access (I think that was it). I'd gone from 10.3 to 10.3.1 to 10.3.3 What the heck, a fresh HD is fun to play with so I formatted/installed the OS again, this time using the 10.3.3 combo updater. The same message was there, and is always there for a permission repair, even after updating to 10.3.4.

Just yesterday I finally updated my QS-733 from 10.3.1 to 10.3.3 and then 10.3.4. Now I get the exact same "permission repair that doesn't take" on that machine.

Can anyone decipher what's up with this?
Cheers!

Glen

A quick search would have answered your question.
