I hate the fans on my TiBook 867. Especially because I am using it for mobile studio recordings - extremely disturbing. I read lot of comments about AlBook being much more quiet. On the other hand, there are comments which indicate that it may not be so. I am confused. Is somebody here who can directly compare TiBook vs. AlBook noisewise ? I can sell my TiBook right now, but I am afraid that I could end from bad to worse ... Or not ? Or should I go rather for a silent iBook ?

I have a TiBook 500 and a 1Ghz AlBook. The fan on the 1Ghz is much quieter than my 500 and rarely comes on even with intensive use. When it does come on it's audible but just barely.

I used the Ti400, Ti800, Ti867, Al17 and now Al15. I promise you that the AlBooks are the quietest.

My fans never came on under regular usage. The one times that it does come on is when I am playing games.

The best prior to the AlBooks were the Ti800, the Ti867 was terrible, it always came on, even when I was just surfing the web.
