I read the developer note which states that the 15" superdrive can write to DVD-RW. The same matshita 816 is also in the 17" powerbook but Apple's developer note for it says it cannot write to DVD-RW... This is obviously a formware issue but why would Apple cripple the 17" powerbook like that? I have not yet tried to burn a DVD-RW with my 17" superdrive so am not sure if this is simply an oversight in the developer note, have any other rev b 17" owners tried a DVD-RW yet? Oddly, at matshita's web site thay do not even have a listing for the UJ-816, only the UJ-815B (maybe just their internal designation for the 816). Their documentation does show that the UJ-815B can also record to DVD-RAM!!! I was unable to find a driver on their site to download. Anyone know of one floating around?
people ruin everything....
