My install disk from my powerbook G3/400 OS9.02 will not install the system on my other powerbook G3/233 Wallstreet. I get the message the installer will not run on this machine.

The 233 machine has been PRAM Zapped, nortoned, disk warriored and has all original parts and running OS 8.6.

Do the install disks that come with new machines only install on that machine now? There is absolutely nothing in the readme files about this change.

The program Wish I were does not have an option to 'be a G3 400'.

Do I need to purchase another install disk or is there a work around? I can do basic resediting if there is a solution. I am going to fire up the old 7200 and do some more testing, but I think I need help with this one.

Thanks a MILLION.

Rob

Mac OS 9.0.2 was one of those oddball systems. It is proprietry to the PB G3 Pismo and other contemporary Apple hardware. I would advise installing OS 9.0 on your PB 233, then upgrading to 9.0.4, then to 9.1 (when available).
