OK. I have a Rev A MacBook. Wireless web access has been slowing down something awful in my house. Only thing I have done is move the mac to the right side of my desk (switched it with the PC Dell Monitor).

I am literally a foot from my Linksys wireless router but I dont get all the airpoort bars and web access is like dial up.

Any clues what could make throughput come to a crawl? Web access is fine from other rooms of the house...

Its a long shot but this has happened to me before.
All I did to fix it was switch of ipv6 in network, apparently some dlink and linksys routers have intermittent problems with it.
Its also mysteriously switched itself back on before after apple updates.

Oh my God...

I think that did it.

Thanks Steve,

Now what exactly is that thing you had me turn off??? Do I ever need it on - automatically or otherwise??? Now I cannot remember what it was set to.

Its some sort of plan to extend the number of available IP Addresses

IPv6 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It was probably set to Automatic, but as it looks like quite a few years in the future before its needed I just leave mine set at off, but as I say I have known it to mysteriously to turn itself back on.

I guess it will 'fix' itself when we all buy new routers.
