Everyone has THEIR song. That one song that takes you from wherever you are to another place entirely. For whatever reason it might be everyone has A song.

Elaine's date in that Seinfeld episode stopped everything because he was so moved by, The Eagles,' "Desperado."

One of my songs is Marvin Gaye's, "What's Goin On."

Well, I was listening to an oldies station tonite and heard the Critters' "Mr. Dieingly Sad" and was stricken with emotion and it took me by complete surprise. I haven't heard the song in years and never before has it ever affected me in that way. And that's what prompted this question?

What is YOUR song? The ONE or just a couple of really special songs that do it for you?
Give petty people just a little bit of power and watch how they misuse it! You can't silence the self doubt, can you?

Journey's "Don't Stop Believing." It's "our" song, and it's one of mine too.

Dire Straits' "Sultans of Swing" puts me right in that club-it's awesome!

Many others...too numerous to mention. I guess I'm easily moved.

Petter - Mitt sjätte sinne

I translated the lyrics as well as I could

man kan ställa sig frågor - you can ask yourself questions
varför allting är i lågor - why everything is on fire
går fram och tillbaka - goes back and forth
som vågor - as waves
-jag filosoferar funderar - I philosophy, wonder
varför vi existerar - why we exist
varför jorden planeter - why the earth planets
allting cirkulerar - everything goes in circles
-varför folk beter sig - why people act
som folk beter sig - like people act
varför vissa går ned sig - why some go down
ger med sig bara ger sig - give up, just give themselves up
-pengar riksdaler styr våra liv - money "dollars" control our lives
det är fel jag vet - it's wrong I know
men jag vill också ha min del - but I also want my part
hela livet är ett spel - the whole life is a game
-satsa rätt lev ut - play the odds live
fixa din biljett imorrn kan allt vara slut - get your ticket t'moro everything can be over
för när mörkret faller - because when the darkness falls
står du helt på egen hand - you're all on your own
då är det öga för öga tand för tand - then it's an eye for an eye tooth for tooth
kan aldrig bryta våra band - can never break our ties
-lösa upp vår släkt - dissolve our families
jag håller ryggen täckt - I cover my back
mitt sjätte sinne är väckt - my sixth sense is awake
vi är satans spioner - we are the spies of satan
men allt är bara bilder? - but everything is just images?
mina bilder och visioner - my images and visions
dom säger mer än miljoner - they say more than millions of
-ord och begrepp och koncept - words and notions and concepts
de har rätt - they are correct
nu har tryggheten släppt vårt vett - now the safety has released our sense
och hamnat fullständigt snett - and gone completely wrong
-mina drömmar måste sina - my dreams must go dry
vill att isen ska tina - want the ice to thaw
att världen ska skina - that the world will shine
men det handlar om flis - but it's about splinters
för allt har sitt pris - because everything has it's price
materialistisk trygghet - material safety
det är så världen drivs - that's how the world is run
-slicka upp sparka ned - lick up kick down
attityder poppar upp alltför ofta - attitudes blow to often
jag vill slippa all stress bara softa - I want to get away from all the stress and just chill

refr.

-vi har nått vår sista timme - we have reached our last hour
jag ser skräck - I see fear
mitt sjätte sinne är väckt - my sixth sense is awaken
har vi nått vår sista timme
jag ser skräck
mitt sjätte sinne är väckt

-allting tär i min hjärna - everything tear in my brain
min kärna - my core
jag dyker som en tärna - I dive like a sea-swallow
men stannar under ytan - but stay below
-under ytan är jag säker - below the surface I'm safe
såren läker - the wounds heal
men vindar vänder - but the winds change direction
jag ser ondskans tänder - I see the teeth of evil
konflikter mellan länder - conflicts between countries
vad händer - what happens
har vi nått sista dan på vår kalender - we've reached the last day on our calender
för jag ser städer i bränder - because I see cities burning
-oskyldiga springer och flyr från tortyr - innocents run and flee from torture
generaler som styr - generals that rule
ger order om likvidering - give orders of liquidation
i denna skräckfyllda bild - in this frightful image
har livet någon mening - the live has lost it's meaning
-knappast vad fattas - not quite what's missing
när världen smälter universiellt - when the world is melting universally
finansiellt - financially
när soldater drar i fält when - when soldiers go to war
drabbar samman parallelt - "meat each other parallel"
med all ilska ondska - with all evilness wickedness
hat som har svält - hatred that's starved
-gå ridå? för korridor - close curtain? because corridor
mitt hjärta slår - my heart beats
och tankar som jag får - and thoughts that I have
som går - that go
-kombineras med allegorier - combine with allegories
galna fantasier - crazy fantasies
och svåra melodier - and difficult melodies
en djupare betydelse - a deeper meaning
för livets strategier - the the strategies of life
-jag hatar våld och allt det står för - I hate violence and everything it means
aggresiva filosofer - aggressive philosophisers
pressa mina gränser - press my limits
och jag visar vad jag går för - and show what I can do
-det är svårt att känna lycka - it's difficult to feel happy
när allt börjar trycka - when everything starts to press
jag vill berusa mig själv - I want to intoxicate myself
och aldrig mer nyktra - and never again be sober

To those against whom war is made, permission is given (to fight), because they are wronged;- and verily, Allah is most powerful for their aid

Pretty cool song. Reminds me a little of a song by triumph in it's meaning.
Time Canon by Triumph.

"Fight the Good Fight"
http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/M...ItemId=3560287

They didn't have "Time Canon" but this song also has similar meanings throughout it which resemble the feeling of your song.

I'd like to hear yours.

Top "my" song is a toss-up between Boston's "Don't Look Back" and Magnum's "The Prize".

Closely followed by:

Scorpions - "Make It Real"
Rush - "Subdivisions"
Doc Holliday - "Son Of The Morning Star"

Unless there's a chick present, and then it's Foreigner's "Waiting For A Girl like You".
Been inclined to wander... off the beaten track.
That's where there's thunder... and the wind shouts back.

Dude, if I get married, I'm gonna play 'Thank You' by Led Zeppelin. That song almost makes up for the rest of the slutty material on Led Zeppelin II.

Recently I bought Everyday Sunday's album on the iTMS and the song Just a Story is hit me hard cause it sounded just like me. Though my all time fave most ME song is the OC Supertone's Jury Duty off of Loud and Clear. As well Thousand Foot Krutch's When in Doubt is a song that I really have to say strikes a chord with me. Lastly probably The Wedding's Song for the Broken.

But over all Jury Duty by the OC Supertones will probably forever be my favourite song.

In my case I'm unable to act normal if slightly intoxicated and that song starts. In concert I had chills down my spine, good stuff.
