How well does the 17" widescreen or 20" widescreen dell monitors work with a new 12" iBook?

And if I used the spanning hack, it says you can use it in clamshell mode, will the external monitor still only get 16mb vram to it while the lid is shut?

And if it does only get the 16mb then is the powerbook worth the extra money to be able to use a larger external monitor on it?

If this matters I plan to use Photoshop CS2 and regular college uses on this laptop.

I would say that the Dells should work fine, though I don't know which exactly you refer to. Samsung makes a number of Dells, which is a good thing.
