I really like to listen to techno when I code (yeah yeah, cliched to hell and all that), particularly hardcore and it's variants (though not so much happy hardcore, I much prefer deathcore). I don't know about particular songs though, and I'm not sure it'd matter that much. I just like to have the beat and the and the high-tempo background music and don't particularly pay attention to the actual song.

i used to listen to streaming radio Groove Salad, but then RIAA came along and killed them.

a mix of classical and techno usually works. no lyrics mostly.
so anywhere from beethoven to aphex twin. and sometimes the star wars soundtracks

NIN, Kraftwerk, Rage Against the Machine. I find RATM worked really well while doing math homework in high school...seemed to transfer well to coding.

ohh...hard to say, really depends on my mood, but TOOL is always great, and Pink Floyd, anything that has lots of great music and words but is stimulating and doesn't shut your brain down. Techno is good because it is mostly just beats and not words to distract you, and classical.

I absolutely loved that station... I used to sometimes let it play and sleep to it all night... Great lucid dreams!

We were talking about this idea of a compilation at work and was just wondering what you all thought would be good additions... I definitely would put something from the latest Flaming Lips cd as well.. What a great disc and great "music to code to" as well...

folk music. it's Meghan Slankard right now, for me, but Indigo Girls, Melissa Etheridge... all depends on the mood. Other days, it's Cake, others it's Metallica or Rage Against the Machine. Either way, it doesn't really matter, it all fades away...
