XP works fine in VPC7 so I thought it would be interesting to see how well Vista runs. Well, I've only a G4 with 1GB RAM, half of that for VPC7.
I was pretty impressed with Vista's streamlined installer despite that it needs to reboot 4 times during installation.
Vista itself was slow as cold molasses in VPC7. 20 times slower than XP. No Aero of course. It looked like XP with a theme. It is no OS X in terms of usability though. For example, right click on desktop to change wallpaper takes you to a list of appearance wizards. You click on any of the wizards and another window opens to allow you to change options. Each setting has its own window. The classic tabbed Display Properties kicks this. There are lots of silly hand holding options like this throughout Vista.
I do like it though for what it is and will install it again with Boot Camp when I get my Intel soon.
