New touch-screen iPods?
Fat nanos?
New iTunes?
The Beatles FINALLY coming to the iTunes Store?

It's only an hour and a half away...

DISCUSS!

I thought it was 10.30 pst... oh well.

I think the fat nanos might be real - if they do indeed upgrade them to include video. Seems the only way to make the screen reasonable without making them match the 5G iPods in size.

I think the fat nano mock-ups are kind of funky looking. I've thought about "downgrading" to a nano since I keep all of my music on an external hard drive now (I lost 95% of my music in an iPod incident, roughly 60% of which was bought from iTunes), but I'm waiting to see what they do today.

80 GB hard drive on my PowerBook + Final Cut Express + Lightroom + Photoshop + Dreamweaver + iWork + MS Office + 20 GB worth of pictures = no space left for music.

And I never did get an external HD because it was "too expensive." Well, now I lost a few hundred dollars worth of music.

CDs for me.
And torrents.

There's also absolutely no reason Apple can't let you redownload content you purchased.

If I had my way, that's what this so-called Special Event would be about. It really is ludicrous. Even Microsoft gets it right with XBox Live.

I couldn't fine one yet. Still too early, I guess.

Sucks that my first class is at 1:00 too. I'll miss out on the good stuff until later this afternoon.

I can't believe this, but I just saw the Dane Cook reference earlier in the thread. Thpt....

You can re-download content on XBox Live? If that's true, it's time to clean off my hard drive when I get home...

Yeah, definitely.

I'm not sure about the steps, since my 360 is at home, but you go to download history, click the A button, and there's an option to redownload. That's all from memory. I might be wrong about the way it's done, but I've done it several times.

I think the beat goes on (since we figure it refers to the Beatles last press release) means that Apple is closing its doors forever.

Apple will re-enable your downloads once

I've done it, just write them, let them know your iPod died with all your music, and you'd like them to reset your download tokens. (I lost my backup HD, my iPod, and my Laptop HD within about a week. Never again will I not have backups on a hard media).

99 cents + cost of song. So its 1.98 for a ring tone. Still cheaper than many other phones out there. Agreed, going to Ambrosia web site now. :-)

If Apple let you make ringtones for free with any iTS song you've purchased, I could at least respect that. This is pathetic.

I have to take it back, the others do look as bad as previously indicated.

On the upside it appears your rating will finally be visible with other song info.

Yep. Problem is that "classic" is $349, so "touch" will be expensive!

The cynical side of me wonders how many fewer iPhones would have sold if this had been available to begin with.
