Anyone seen this yet? A free app, offer comes up. Freezes the screen, you double to force quit the app, and then you have just bought the offer! This just happened today.

Never seen this. Does this “purchase” show up in your App Store purchase history ?

Did you force-quit when the purchase screen came up showing the Touch ID logo?

In that case, putting your thumb on the home button to double-press it would authorise the purchase, no?

The whole process is a mystery.

“offer comes up” ?

What does that mean ?
Was the app downloaded (for free), and then it “offered” an in-app payment ?

Hey guys, I got a phone call the other day, and we talked a bit. I hung up, and then I had some coffee.

Ever since then, my bank account has been charged a higher monthly fee.

Anyone had this happen?

The problem was resolved, the issue has been discussed on Reddit and other forums I've heard. Many "Free apps". Bumble for example, and others, where they push upgrade features, and you use the home button to force quit out, with a double click of the home button --(as the upgrade window gets sticky and wont go away, yet the home button also launches Apple pay.

Then the app, tells you you have to go to Apple for a refund. Bit of an ordeal. I went to Apple and surprisingly, quickly, I got the refund.

I was hoping someone here knew or experienced the issue but I guess not.

Sounds like user error to me.

They way you describe this tells me you have no clue what’s going on.

“push upgrade features” ???
Use home button to force quit - most users don’t know (and shouldn’t know) how to do that.
Double click home button ONLY opens Apple Pay from a locked scree, never when already unlocked.
