I read somewhere about a Mac-compatible USB-powered scanner that would work with iBooks that we loan out to students in the library. Anyone know the best source?
Thanks

Canon makes at least one USB-powered flatbed - the 1200U. The lower-priced model (600U?) may also be USB-powered - I'm not sure.

A further query, rather than a reply: Will a USB powered scanner be able to get power thru a cardbus USB adapter (Macally) in a Wallstreet PB?

The Artec 1236 is USB-powered. I have one and it seems to function quite nicely. It's also color-coordinated with my Bondi iMac......
