Shuttle Discovery, atop the Boeing 747 will be traveling up the east coast to D.C.
Departure time from K.S.C. is supposed to be around 0700. Check this site
Kennedy Space Center Video Feeds The flight plan is hugging the east coast. Well that is what I was told. So grab them Camera's and get to the beach.

Looks like they are going to fly right over the Capitol before heading to Dulles. I'm so bummed. I'm flying up to DC tomorrow. I would have made a trip out to the airport to watch it land.

They will be doing Photo ops with Enterprise and Discovery nose to nose before loading Enterprise on top of the 747 to take it to NYC.

Must have been some lunch break since it flew over DC about 9:50Am til about 10:20 doing 3 passes.

But not the museum in DC but the Udvar-Hazy near Dulles Airport in Chantilly, VA.

Reposting a blog entry by Wayne Hale that I think some of you might like to read.
Wayne Hale's Blog

I remember playing with the lego shuttle when I was younger so seeing pictures of the shuttle (Ars has some nice ones here) is really moving.

thanks for the link, really good read.

It makes me miss how excited we all were for the space shuttle... I remember in elementary school we had tv brought into the room to watch shuttle launch. It was a really big deal.
