Those are Tholian Web error codes, similar to Javascript but infinitely more complex, and which roughly translates into:

Hey Earthling, get the f*ck off our intergalatic network, & stay off, or we will come to your house & zap you with our ray guns
Personally I find it hilarious that you have the hots for my gramma. Especially seeins how she is 3x your age, and makes your Brittney-Spears-wannabe 30-something wife look like a rag doll who went thru WWIII with a burning stick of dynamite up her a** :)

are ALL your prefs like that or just some of them?

Just some of them (well, a lot of them) - but only in the User/Library/Preferences folder - the system Library/Prefs folder is clean.

Do you have Adobe CS or CS2 apps?

If yes, just delete those folders. Adobe's apps have a tendency to spew garbled folders in ~/Library/Preferences. Every Adobe user I support gets those from time to time. It's really bad with network users.

Ah! Yeah, CS2 user... Well, that's a lot better than having a corrupt disk, so I'll take that! Thanks.
