I've renamed my two Airport Express blocks using the Airport Utility but the new names are not recognised by iTunes or Airfoil. How can I refresh my apps so that they list the Airport Express blocks with their new names? I've tried zapping preferences.
Note that I've only encountered this problem since upgrading my Airport Extreme base station from the UFO G to the square N version. Renaming worked fine with the old Airport Admin Utility...

do they have cache files? Try deleting them if those apps have them.

Thanks, I hadn't thought of that, but no that's not working.

try changing them to different channels. Maybe that'll force the apps to pick them up as 'new' points.

Again, good idea, but it didn't work. Same old names.

OK colour me stupid.
I'd changed the name of the Airport Express base stations, but not the speaker names under the 'music' tag.
D'OH!
Nothing to see here, move along.
