A friend of mine just bought an old G3 for $20 from his dad's company. It's beige and runs at I think 333 MHz and it has OS 8.6 installed. He wants to use it for design work, so I told him I would look into how OS X would work on it for him (so he can get the most up-to-date versions of things like Quark, Flash, Photoshop, and Illustrator). He would also like to put in a DVD burner, but he says external would be ok for him too.

Anyone have any rants or raves on how 10.3 works on a beige G3? He said that if he can't put OS X on it then he will just buy a cheap, new (or fairly new) PC for now.
