I download too much for usenet.

At first I didn't like par files because there was no mac support for it.

But now I like par files and they have saved my butt many times.

Now it looks like a new specification is out- PAR2 and pc people are starting to use it also. Not too many yet, but probably more soon.

Has anyone found a work around for PAR2 files yet and has anyone heard of any Mac versions of software for PAR2 files yet?

Unfortunately, there is not a useable OS X version there. You can download the source and try to compile it yourself, but good luck. I tried to do this and ran into errors. I can only assume the code is not very portable. And alas, since I have no programming skillz I can't get it to compile.

Thanks, but it looks like you compiled the 1.1 version. I got that one to work myself, it's the new one that I can't figure out. If anybody wants to give it a shot here is a more direct link:

You may be interested to known that version 0.2 of par2cmdline is now available from http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/p...ar.gz?download and it compiles and run on MacOS X.
