OK, SO i sold my G5 1.6 tower to my company and am replacing it with a Rev.D Pbook.
The production artist that will be using the G5 will never use the superdrive and honestly doesnt even know what it is...
So is it possible to use the superdrive that came in the G5 in an external case for the Pbook?
If not I would still be interested in trading the superdrive to someone with a combo and some accessories to boot maybe.

BTW this is my first post, I have browsed the forums for quite some time but just joined today - which also happens to be the first day I have my powerbook!! WOOHOO!!!

Hey. You can put the drive in an external case, such as this one:

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...173-006&depa=0

I have a harddrive enclosure by them myself and it works great, and compliments my 12" Powerbook quite nicely. The only thing I don't know is if in an external case it will support iDvd....

I bought a case from newegg and they rock.
If you go to xlr8yourmac.com they have a link to
patchburn that lets you use it on an external drive.
I know it is possible.
I bought the Bytecc case from newegg.
It holds a 2.5 or 3.5 harddrive or a 5 inch optical.
It has usb 1.1 2.0 and firewire.
It works great and the drives are easy to change out
Have a great day!
