It doesn't specifiy in the Apple tech page. I am trying to figure out why some websites offer 512 PC100 for the iBook while Crucial offers 512MB at PC133, which is faster and more expensive. But if the iBook comes with 128 at PC100 then having additional memory at PC133 will not help as it will all run at 100mhz right?

Crucial also offer 256mb at PC100 for the iBook. So why is 100 mhz good for 256 MB but not good for 512MB stick?

PC-100 RAM and PC-133 RAM will both run at 100 MHz in the iBook, so it makes no difference. I have yet to have a problem with buying the cheapest RAM available to me.

Both 100 and 133 are fine and will make no difference with the iBook. iBooks with 500MHz can even use 66MHz RAM.
While it will not make a difference in current iBooks, you'll be able to reuse a 133MHz SODIMM if you should update to a TiBook some day. And my personal experience says Crucial RAM is worth its price - good quality, fast delivery and good customer service.

Stink different.

Crucial usually has some of the best prices, but they are selling the 512MB chip for $212. I purchased RAM for 2 iBooks from Data Memory Systems and have had no problems - and they have a PC133 512MB chip for $135 (part number DM50 119-1).

Keep the rubber side down!
