I am wondering whether to upgrade to 10.2, looked at the specs on apples web site:
Quartz Extreme functionality is supported by the following video cards: NVIDIA GeForce2 MX, GeForce3, GeForce4 MX, or GeForce4 Ti; Any AGP-based ATI RADEON card. A minimum of 16MB VRAM is required.
I have a PCI radeon 32mb card, was it a waste of money?
Will I get any advantage from this card?
Grrrrr.
Thanks!

The PCI Radeon will not benefit from Quartz Extreme. However, your Radeon is not a waste. It will give you a much better gaming experience.
In addition, Quartz Extreme is an optional feature of OS 10.2. There are several other performance improvements in Jaguar that your Mac will benefit from.

I know, I know...
And it is a beast.
It's a shame though since 10.1 is pretty much fine, 10.2 is supposed to be faster, and I want to wait untill apple release the G5 or similar.

If you can work with your beige G3, then do so and wait till the G5. I am doing the same thing (iBook G3 600 MHz).
Wait till it pays off to get a new machine.
