I remember when that leaked QuickSilver case made its rounds. Everyone thought it was fake cuz it was brown, turns out it was the real thing.
I have my doubts about this one, though. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

The leaked QS ones looked real. I said it then... if they were PS jobs, they were incredibly good.
This is just crap, I'm sorry. There are so many things that could have been done to make it look decent.
I suppose, a lot of it could be a hold over from some retard resizing the image out of proportion, but as I said, you'd have to be an idiot to do that.
Anyway... I'm still betting it's a PS job.

Well like i said in teh OTHER topic about this image, i think the quality is too low to tell accurately if it was photoshoped or not. My gut feeling tells me it real, and that has been increased by the removal of the pics from the original web site. Of coarse that letter could technically be fake too, but I have a feeling its not. By the way, do they have to update the information they write on a motherboard AKA the 2001 while their developing, or could they just leave it be and wait for till its done to stamp it right? Or when their making new cases, couldn't they just stick an old MOBO in it and keep the internal and external developments separate. :-P ?

On closer look, i think its real even more. My dual 533 has its air intake and exhaust both on the back. I also have a 17" CRT next to it on my desk. My desk also has a hutch. So during these hot summer days, my G4 basically bastes in its own heat. Having the intake in the front would fix that. Also, having the intake where it is, adn the exhaust on the lower half on the back means that air moves horizontally and eliminates the problem of overheating the AGP/PCI cards. So I think it might very well be the real thing. But the dual optical drives... thats so last month!

I think it is real because I knew that Apple was moving all it's products over to the white/silver look and they are waiting for the G5's for a major redesign. Also if you were going to fake it you would come up with something that didn't look that ugly.
Count me in as saying it is real.
On the plus side it will look much better when it is out of that plastic and photographed properly. Not bad but not great.

I think the pics look pretty nice, except for the metal area around the CD drive(s). This makes me think that the metal portion is just temporary, and will be removed by the final release of the system. Imagine the same case without the metal on the front. Now cover the CD drives with 2 white, flip-down covers (like we've all seen before on the Quicksilvers) and you have yourself one beautiful machine.

I think the case looks attractive enough.
But then, I've only recently come over from the PC side, and the only mac (make that 'computer') I've ever purchased whole was my iBook. My B&W G3 was pieced together from a motherboard from eBay, a processor from OWC, and standard PC components from all over the place. I then threw the whole god-awful mess into an ATX bog standard (full) tower.
I crammed it full of fans and overclocked it too, because I CAN
This next PowerMac will probably be my next major purchase. I can't build a mac from scratch without using old used parts, so I guess I'll just have to purchase a complete system from Apple <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />
