Eudora, Word 5 Cricket graph etc runns well
Web browsing and Office 4.2 does not work well
is it worth it?

Upgrades are completly pointless unless you have som free 72 pin simms laying around. There is the Presto plus upgrade for 99 dollars with a40 MHz 040 CPU but 99 dollars will get you a Powermac 7200 that will blow the socks of any 040 cpu.

For playing games
Wolfenstein Doom and Marathon will run well if it has enogh memory. Why not set up a network and run the multiplayer version of Marathon and learn to perfect the running punch on your friends

For old games go to http://mac.the-underdogs.org/ and get plenty of old games for free
