We recently (VERY recently) started a new site,
http://www.driverfiles.net wich we hope to make a good resource for all kind of hardware related drivers...as usual,I'm the only Macintosh user as a admin there (the other two use pc's...what did they think, lol) and I'm trying to get some support from the Mac community.
You can go there and up- and download drivers, aldo it's still real small at the moment...we are constantly adding more drivers, and users can add their own...

I hope to make this a good site for all drivers people need....

Please take a look there and tell me what you think about the site....and if you run into problems using the Mac,PLEASE tell me...it works ok for me with Safari and 10.2.6,but I want to hear more....I don't want to be part of a site that isn't Mac friendly....

Feel free to register....and upload some drivers....

I'm not bashing, I'd love to have a totally comprehensive site to send customers to, but what is the advantage of this site over something like, say, versiontracker.com ?

Nothing yet,I guess.
We hope to make it better then them in the future....

Like I said,we just started this site, and we need more members and more drivers, working on both...give it a change to grow, and develop into something real good.

I also find the "theme" a bit much- this is the kind of site that utility should come before style. I'm not saying it should be ugly, but if this site is successful, I would go there to find stuff and not to enjoy a fancy but distracting interface.

That being said- this kind of site has great potential for out of date/discontinued hardware. I went through hell trying to find the software for an old yo-yo (cool caller id device) I bought on eBay. If you can attract people to upload this kind of software (the company is long since out of business) it could be great.

I stopped using the yo-yo a while ago- but if I can find the software- I'll upload it.

Well I found the YO-YO software and was all ready to upload and your registration service seems to be broken. When I fill out the info and submit, I get:

Column 'password' specified twice

This happens from Safari and IE 6 on Windows.

Let me know when it's fixed and I'll upload.

Thanks for the upload Paco!
We fixed the problem with the registration,as you noticed...thats why I like to hear from real life users...they run into the errors we don't notice..

And we hope we can be the site for older drivers in a while...just give us the time to grow....

About the theme...what can I say?At least it's original....

For anyone that made the trip to driverfiles.net and critized it here...please register and help us to make it better!(if you care enough) you can always leave comments in the little forum we have there.

Ugh, I can't stand registering. At least it can't be as senseless as logging in to driverguide.com.

Our site is much, much easier to use!
Register once, and you can simply use it over and over again, specially when you use cookies.
