After spending obscene amounts of money buying gifts that people will no doubt loathe so I don't feel guilty when they do the same, I've decided to celebrate International Capitalism Day (TM) by upgrading my notebook memory to the tune of 1 GB. Shorter game loading screens do good things for your karma.

Anyway, is there anything I should make sure of when buying RAM aside that it's DDR PC2700 and 200 SO-DIMM Pin? I'm running a 12" 1.33 Rev C PB. I've no idea what ECC or Cas Latency are, but they seem to figure rather prominently. Any good holiday deals I should be aware of?

Was thinking of grabbing http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145518 but I thought I'd check here so I don't have to return it.

You don't need ECC, and as far as I know the PowerBooks don't take advantage of more agressive CAS timings so those aren't a concern.

That one should work fine, this one may save you a few dollars. If you want a compatibility guarantee with your PowerBook you can spend a few dollars more for this.

I would personally go with the 1gb stick in the above link from newegg. It's the same stuff you'd get from the crucial web site, just newegg happens to be a lot cheaper! Should work fine in your PB, and if not just return it to newegg and try another flavor. I personally have 1gb of kingmax in my powerbook and it works great. For your 12" you want PC2700 DDR (not DDR2) 200pin SODIMMs. As stated above powerbooks don't take advantage of agressive cas timings, so basically anything you find at newegg should work fine. Crucial, Kingmax, Corssair, Mushkin are all good brands, and most of the off brand names will also work fine as well.
