Your post became an abject failure when Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy was nowhere to be found.

No-one looking forward to The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo?
Then there is lots of mindless crap/fun like GI Joe 2, Sherlock Holmes 2 (I think thats already out), Darkest Hour, Ghost Protocol.

Is Avengers out this year?
I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....

When you say this year, do you mean next year? (2012)

I'll add Prometheus, trailer out soon. At the moment it's trailers for the trailer...

Saw the new Sherlock, it was quite good. Compared to the first it had a smarter plot and better visuals, with all of the cheeky humor I find entertaining. Worth $6 to see in theater.

I sort-of am, if only to see how "action-y" Hollywood makes it, in comparison to the original film. It'll be a wait-for-rental, though.

Saw Ghost Protocol in IMAX. It was pretty good for an over-the-top nonstop action flick. The prologue/trailer for Dark Night Rises was incredibly intense in IMAX though.

4 month old movies still play here for $4.00 during the day, $6.00 at night. 12 years ago I could go to a small theater at one of the malls and see 4-6 month old movies for $2.50

That said I haven't paid for a movie in 2 years now. Because of my scene points, I make 3 movies worth of points a month. I have 10 free movies saved up right now.

When I see an interesting trailer, or hear of a potentially good movie in development, I add them to a list. They're releasing some trailers a year or more before the movie comes out, so I started the list to keep track.

The Darkest Hour [Dec 25]
BSG: Blood and Chrome [SciFi late 2011 / early 2012]
Underworld Awakening [Jan 20]
The Lorax [Mar 2]
The Hunger Games [Mar 23]
Cabin In The Woods [Apr 13]
Game Of Thrones season 2 [Apr - TV]
Battleship [May 18]
MIB 3 [May 25]
Snow White & The Huntsman [June 1]
Prometheus {Aliens universe} [Jun 8]
The Dark Knight Rises [July 20]
Premium Rush [Aug]
Dredd [Sept 21]
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey [Dec 14, 2012]
The Hobbit: There and Back Again [Dec 13, 2013]
Avatar 2 [Dec 2014]
Avatar 3 [Dec 2015]

I hope it's not interpreted as spam, but for my fellow canadians from Montréal, here's a few tips to save money when going to a Guzzo cinema, while donating to a good cause. First, you can get the Guzzo fidelity card. It's a one-time 5$ fee and they donate 100% of it to a Cancer foundation. This card gives you the opportunity to pay tuesday prices on wednesday, so you can avoid the huge crowd, or in case you're working on tuesday. The second option is to buy the Cure (Breast Cancer) 365 card, which, for 10$ annually, gives you the opportunity to purchase up to two tickets for 8$ each, any day you want. Proceeds go toward research to cure breast cancer. (just to be clear, you can use it an unlimited number of times, but up to two tickets at the same time)

Feel free to post the trailer, or start the conversation or do anything but cry about the contents of thread and then add nothing and then eventually lament about the condition of this place and just be an insufferable grouch.

That snow white looks pretty good. Saw a trailer for another with Julia Roberts that looks to be going for humor... Mirror Mirror? Why do studios put two snow white movies out at the same time?

Snow White and the Huntsman vs Mirror Mirror in 2012 : Beyond The Trailer - YouTube

Mirror Mirror - Movie Trailers - iTunes

Have no desire to see the Girl with Dragon Tattoo remake, the original was pretty good.

The Lorax with Danny Devito is just wrong.

Glad to hear Sherlock was better than the first, from the trailers they are only showing crossdressing gags so wasn't sure.

I'll have to wait for video for most of these anyhow, except Tintin and possibly the Hobbit, which we can take the kids to.

Totally looking forward to Brave, Summer 2012: Brave Teaser - YouTube

What' the name of that movie (it's recent, may have already been released) where that tall dude keeps seeing flocks of birds/lightening/end of world type stuff... he builds and stocks a shelter... his wife thinks he's crazy...

The trailer looks fantastic, but I wish Ridley Scott had stuck with his original intention of producing an Alien prequel. I had no idea he'd backed off of that until this week.

Take Shelter (i haven't seen it, so no opinion)

edit: it's been out a few months, but looks to have bombed at the box office despite good reviews.

What have you heard this week? That trailer is as much in the Alien universe as it can be without having Aliens in it. I'll spoiler this but its all visible in the trailer...

It's fantastic and probably my fav of the year. Its the greatest performance of Michael Shannon's career, worthy of an Oscar. The intensity of his performance was reminiscent of Daniel Day Lewis in There Will Be Blood.

As far as upcoming flicks, I'll add some lighter fare: The Dictator!

I want to be excited about Prometheus, but I've been burned too many times now by the franchise... even if this technically isn't part of the franchise.

Sure you say, but it's Ridley Scott! Yeah, so what. Look what we got from David Fincher and Jean-Pierre Jeunet, two fantastic directors.

I'll wait and see. It LOOKS amazing.
