Is it possible to password protect a folder so that you can only access the folder by typing in a password. I dont mean like different user accounts, but since I never log out I would like to be able to keep a folder where nobody but me can access it.

You can get the same result by using DiskCopy to make an encrypted disk image and just
unmount it when you want to make it secure.
If that doesn't suit have a look at <a href="http://www.versiontracker.com" target="_blank">www.versiontracker.com</a> for an app.

It can be so hard to hide your porn, I know.
But why do you like that app so much? It's own readme says:
</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Geneva, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif">quote:</font><hr /><font size="1" face="Geneva, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif"> This program in essence provides no real security</font><hr /></blockquote><font size="1" face="Geneva, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif">Great.

You're much better off using the disk-image method. It has the added advantage of encrypting your stuff on the hard drive, so if They (whoever They are manage to steal your hard drive, they won't be able to just scrape the data off and look at it that way.

Try this app by Brian Hill. I don't have it and can't vouch for it, but it seems like it may be what you want.

You could just make a new account and change the owner of the folder to that account, and each time you want to see the folders contents either launch a new Finder with the new account, or set the folder's owner to your account and set it back afterwards. You could write scripts to do that for you.

You have to stuff the folder first.

what if you just sudo chown -R root to the folder and then chowned it back when you wanted to open it? are there any big problems with this?
~BS
(I guess you would need to do something like chmod 700 the first time)
