hi, i had an older version of word previously

my questions:

1) is there anyway to get the word toolbar out of every document and back above the documents, where the whole thing fits across the top line of my computer? it don't fit all the way across in the specific, smaller, word windows. annoying!

and

2) i can't relocate a word doc window to lower on my screen, or make it not open so it fills the whole screen top to bottom. i like some docs to have smaller windows when open. this is new w/this version. any thoughts?

thanks much!

1) Yes! Go to View->Customize Toolbars and Menus to pull up the customization panel. On the right side of that table, you'll see a "Dock" column. Simply uncheck this box for any toolbar you want floating. You'll notice that the Standard toolbar can't be un-docked, but nothing is stopping you from creating a toolbar with the same shortcuts that CAN be undocked.

2) From my initial fiddling I didn't notice any obvious way to do what you want to do. It seems to remember window WIDTH, but not height or location. I'll update here if I figure out anything.

Any ramblings are entirely my own, and do not represent those of my employers, coworkers, friends, or species
