I have 8.6 installed and its fairly stable.... but i am thinking of upgrading.... so what i want tro know is if you people think it is a worthwhile upgrade or just a waste of time....

I guess i could also wait for OS X but thats a long way away....

Unless you really want one of the new features in Mac OS 9, don't get it now. Mac OS X will be available in a few months.

OS 8.6 is faster than OS 9.0 (except for the internet). And it is very stable.
If I were you, I would keep OS 8.6 and wait for OS X., unless you absolutely want file encryption, web sharing, multiple users, etc..
Keep also in mind that OS 9.0 uses more memory...
