Hi there,
I am running 10.5.6 on a 17" MBP with 4Gb's of memory. Just lately Safari has started to take over 40 seconds to load. I have emptied the cache and reset Safari but to no avail; there seems to be no problem with FireFox which loads in about 8 to 10 seconds.
I have checked my broadband download speed and it's currently 6023.41Kbps
Is there anyone else having this problem with Safari and if so, would anyone know of a fix?
Thanks in advance

PS: apologies for first posting this in the Mac OS X forum.

Apple f***ed up Safari in the latest update. You're not alone.
There are millions of suggestions out there, but unfortunately, for many, it doesn't fix the issue.

Hi turtle777,
Thanks for your post.
Instead of continuing to scratch my *** trying to figure out a cure, I decided that the only solution was to download and reinstall Safari 3.2.1
This did the trick, Safari now loads and runs really fast ..... for the time being anyway....

That actually might really be the best solution.
Gotta give that a try. Thx.

It looks as though I was a little premature in thinking I had found the fix for 'Slow Safari Syndrome.' After re-installing, it has taken less than five days for Safari to go back to taking over 80 seconds to load. All I get is the Beachball O'Death!
Ah well never mind, I shall now ditch Safari and start using Opera or FireFox - it seems I am spoilt for choice!

PS: Did the re-install work for you turtle777?
