Formac Studio TVR 3.03 unexpectedly quits frequently, although on occasion I can get it to work it is less than stable. Hope they come up with a patch soon.

Try fixing the ownership and permissions in your /Library/Application Support/ directories. I couldn't install LifeBalance because the permissions for the Palm HotSync condiuts were all screwey. A little chown and all'swell.

Been a happy sync'er since.

The MS Office apps work fine for me, but I don't use Entourage at all. Illustrator 10 is fine. VPC 6 is fine, too.

Anybody try Maya 5, Universe 5, Carrara 3 or any of the other "popular" rendering packages??? I am supposed to get Panther this afternoon before 4:30PM and dont want to loose too much functionality. I'm planninng on installing Panther on a partition and beta testing most of the things I use regularly before doing the wipe and install bit just in case.

So far Safari is the only app i am having trouble with. ironic isnt it. I am having to post using IE cause Safari wont render right and is incredibly slow. Will have to try a different user or see if it is still acting up once I do the clean install. I did an Upgrade so i could do an application check without having to install everything and wasting a lot of time. Here is what I have tried tonight.

Office (Excel, Word and Powerpoint)- Seem to work fine.
Quicken Deluxe 2003- all feature including online banking seem to work
PGP 8.0.3-Seems to be working fine
Virex 7.2- Seems to be workig fine
AppleWorks 6-Seems to be working fine
Electric Image Universe 5 Demo-Seems to be working fine
Cararra5 Demo-Seems to be working fine
Maya 5 PLE-Seems to be working fine
SolidThinking 5.5 Demo-Seems to be working fine
Printing to HP PSC2400- Seems to be working fine

Only problem as of right now is Safari quirkiness and battery life has gone to pot on my new PB. Will be reconditioning the battery pretty soon as I am about to go to force sleep any second. Have reste the Powermanager and hopefully the reconditioning will do the trick.

My LimeWire doesn't work . . . it don't even expand into the Dock.

I downloaded .mac MacroMedia Contribute trial a week or so ago, and after installing Panther, my trial has suddenly expired. I'm sure I had several weeks left.

Other than Norton Personal Firewall (which has been addressed by Symantec), my PowerMater screws up the volume of my USB Soundsticks. Max volume is way too low, and the wheel doesn't work properly.

I removed the Powermate support folder from the Library, restarted, and all works well again.

I had trouble with the MX 2004 suite too and this is what fixed it.

I can confirm that this worked on my Mac after I did and archive and install of Panther.

I have a CanoScan N1240U and it works fine. I did however have to reinstall the drivers after updating. Photoshop spit back errors when I first tried to use them. After a reinstall, all was fine.

Toast 6 seems to have the following problem:

I can't switch the source in a copy (trying to backup my panther disks). So for instance I have the superdrive and a 40x CD-RW drive, can't switch which is the source. Also can mount images but can't use them as a source for copying. This is confirmed on multiple machines.

That's what their site says as well, but I reinstalled both Fruitmenu and Clear Dock out of curiosity and both of them seems to work fine on my G5 dualie.

I did a archive and install type of upgrade and that process dumped all of my haxies out by default. But I successfully re-install ASM, Fruitmenu (updated to their latest Application Enhancer app) and clear dock. Clear dock had to be reset but fruitmenu reloaded my old prefs perfectly.

The more I use Fruitmenu the more I am amazed at how incredibly efficient that little app really is. Its contextual menu feature has truly revolutionized the way I use my mac...

Desktop Manager is weird now. Window 1 doesn't work, and all others have the same number.

does ViaVoice work?

I have installed on my back up machine, rev 2 iMac 333. networking is fine, X11 has two new apps, haven't tried installing any unix apps yet.

looks good. Afraid to make the plunge onto my big iron, but I will.

That's funny...I had the same "letter a" problem with my Quicksilver G4 after an Upgrade install and went through multiple restarts with different things turned on and off (shades of OS9 Conflict Catcher). The only thing I didn't try off was Synergy, thinking "how could a menubar iTunes controller take away my letter a?" Not to mention my Powerbook with Synergy was not having the problem.

So I just did an Archive/Clean Install instead. Things are working great of course, but now I have to reapply or copy my preferences and registrations app by app. Sure wish I would have just turned off Synergy!

Some of the apes do work in panther I'm using cleardock in panther with the ape manager
its been updated for panther for some time now just go there web page most of the haxies and APE assisted apps do work fine

I too have a problem with Backup. On a fresh install of Panther (retail boxed copy) I get;

"An unrecoverable internal error has occurred"

... when backup runs and attempts to find the iDisk. This same problem happened on a fresh install of 10.2 when I frist bought my 17" Powerbook (rev. A) and so I suspect it's a hardware error rather than software?

Anyone else having this problem?

HotSync Works. Entourage Works. The Entourage-Addressbook Sync app is broken under Panther.

Zinio's Digital Magazine Reader requires an easy update to work.

Everything else I use works just fine.

Apologies if this has been posted before, but backup 2 tells me that you can't schedule backups to an iDisk in Panther. I wouldn't even have known if I hadn't been playing around with Backup, and I might have gone on thinking that my backups were working. Not good.

CocoAspell and TurboMouse don't work.

I'll miss CocoAspell for checking spelling in HTML documents and for checking spelling for words with accents such as Expos�.

Without TurboMouse, I'm back to a painfully slow mouse. Since moving to OS X (public beta), I've had problems with mouse drivers. I've tried USB Overdrive and TurboMouse. TurboMouse worked well for OS X up to Panther, but if I boot back into OS 9, my mouse barely moves at all. Have some of these drivers changed something in Firmware? How come changing the settings in OS X, causes the mouse to slow down in OS 9?

I'm using a standard "hockey puck" mouse on my B+W G3.

My iChat preferences will not save correctly either. This seems to have started with iChat AV 2.0 though. It happened before I upgraded to Panther and then again after the upgrade.

Neither Windows Media Player or Vindigo will install on 10.3 retail. Console prints the same error with both: "invalid path"...
