Hey everyone-
I'm not going to give it away, but if you want to save on things like sales tax and shipping then you should save at least $300 bucks. So the offer is $1650.00 shipped. My purchase price right out of the store was $1995.05.
Here are the adds made to the base specs of the machine. I suggest plugging this into the apple website to see the actual cost and what money you will save. I promise the computer is very close to new quality.

MacBook Black (why black?because it looks cool!)

(adds)

2.0 GHZ Intel Core 2 Duo
2 GB RAM
160 GB Hard Drive

The rest is standard right out of the box stuff. Also included is a wireless "mighty mouse" I paid $69 for. If your interested we can work out payment details. If you happen to live in the DFW area then we could do a simple cash transaction.

Thanks

I did not buy the apple care warranty, but I'm sure you still could. I purchased the MacBook in late November, so I do not believe it is in warranty.

Thanks bryoug. I just checked the purchase receipt and it was purchased in December not November. So that makes it in warranty until December of 2007. I believe during that time you can purchase the apple care warranty.

It should cover it. The hard drive in the Macbook is user replaceable. Its like installing RAM

I didn't install a different hard drive. I ordered the Macbook through the apple website and selected the 2GB of RAM upgrade and the 160 GB HD upgrade. Apple shipped the computer to me with the listed specifications. So everything is covered.

This is still for sale.... anyone have any advice on how to sell it? I've got it posted on Craigslist for the DFW area as well.

Well, since the release of the "new" Macbooks this week, you probably are going to have to lower your price. I bought the exact same machine (except smaller 120 gb hard drive), with 2.5 years of AppleCare left for $1,250 shipped off here 2 weeks ago. Given the prices on eBay, CL, and other forums, you're probably going to have to lower it...

Yeah, the problem is that someone can get a brand new blackbook from MacMall (updated, so a faster processor and the 160gb drive) for $1394 shipped. RAM isn't very expensive anymore, so someone could up to 2GB and still be almost $200 less than your asking price.. for a used, older model.

Also, Amazon and others are offering the stock version of your MB (120gb and 1gb of RAM) brand new for $1049.. just to give you an idea of how much value these lost...

Sorry dude but you're going to have to eat the sales tax, the $100 rebates going on, and the craziness you paid for RAM for that thing. My guess is the best you can get for that rig is about $1350 + shipping beings it is used. Good luck!

Thanks for your posts. I have officially decided to keep it. The funny thing is the day I posted it, someone offered me $1500! and I said no.
