I think I was sent a faulty GeForce3. How does one run the timedemo in Quake 3 to find out the framerates?
Please post your framerates with your chip and graphics card.
Thanks for your help

Hit the < button and then type /timedemo 1 and then /demo demo001.Or choose play demo in the main menu. After the demo is trough playing hit the < button again and you can the view your average fps. My fps are around 33 with 1024x728, everything high with a Voodo5 PCI card on a B/W 400Mhz. But if you want more extensive results check out xlr8youmac.com

Ok, I'm getting fairly normal framerates for Quake with the GeForce 3.
63.9 FPS at 1600x1200
The issue is that Rogue Spear sucks horribly with Geforce 3 compared to the GeForce 2MX. Any ideas? Thanks

Well, I wouldn't complain too loudly about those Q3 framerates if I were you!
As for the Rogue Spear, it might be attributable to the fact that the GeForce 3 on the Mac is currently running under drivers built for the GeForce 2 MX...a few incompatibilities are bound to happen, and hopefully they'll all be fixed by the next drivers release.
