If Mac is swithcing to Intel, what will happen with the current macs that have PowerPC?
I mean, noone deveops much software for old computers.
So must all new programs (in say 5 years) be emulated or something on older macs that doesn't have Intel

New Programs on old computers = slow
what is then emulated new porgrams on old coumputers?

Im just curious becasue i was planning to buy an iBook (swhich from PC)
but will that be worth it now?

I would guess it depends on how receptive the developers are to the universal binary system apple is putting forth. I bet there will be a year or 18 month time after the intel macs come out where you won't want to own one because there will be hardware compatability issues. I bet it will be hard to find a printer that will work or a keyboard/mouse combo or a scanner. This happened after the transition from OS 9 to OS X. When we are on a new architecture, there may be a lag before we would be able to get new hardware that is compatible or be able to utilize our old hardware.
